GENDER EQUALITY

                     Breaking Stereotypes

Driven by my own encounters with gender inequality, I organized a gender stereotype workshop that aimed to challenge societal norms and promote equality. The workshop reached over 1,000 participants, including members of my community and underprivileged children, creating a safe space for them to discuss and dismantle stereotypes. We held both online and in-person sessions, where we tackled topics like emotional expression and career choices—subjects that are often framed by rigid gender norms. Through role-playing exercises, storytelling, and open discussions, participants shared their personal experiences and questioned assumptions like “only girls cry” or “boys are stronger.” These interactive activities sparked important conversations about self-expression and empathy, fostering a supportive environment where everyone felt heard. By the end, I noticed real change: participants felt more confident in defying stereotypes and were eager to support each other in breaking down barriers. It was inspiring to see perspectives shift, paving the way for a more inclusive community.
